Default V1 and Ka response setting.

Well now that I am a noob V1 owner , I have to ask at least one stupid question. I went through and programed to have POP off X off, I noticed a setting for Ka response setting. I know that Ka is used alot around my area should I turn on to "More Responsive" or leave on "Normal" :?:

    Thanks
    Greg

The choice between normal and more responsive is not a big deal IMHO. If you like a more urgent Ka alert then turn that feature on. It just gives a higher signal reading (more leds and faster beep rate) compared to normal setting. Just keep in mind it does not change the sensitivity on Ka band.

For my 1.8 the more responsive setting is not needed IMHO, but it works OK. For my 1.7 I do prefer to enable that setting, then it matches the response of the 1.8 on normal.

Sounds good, I think I should turn it on, Ka is big in our area. And with how I drive the seriousness of the alert should be high do to speed and reaction time.

    WRONG----

All it does is allow faster ramp up speed when KA is encountered. I would leave it OFF as most peeps do.

    False alarms my ass

It just increases the amount of the ramp up relative to the actual strength of the signal (sorta like making you thin it is closer than it really is).

I had it on for awile, however, I found out its very misleading for judging the distance of the radar so I turned it off.

I think what he said was correct but he just didn't say it in a very good away.He meant it was like a "false sense" of signal strength since that much strength doesn't exist. Maybe I'm wrong though.

We all know it DOES NOT actually increase the sensitivity of the Ka band detection itself.

If you drive fast, it is a good idea to use it. Quicker ramp up means quicker response from you which will save you some cash.
