Default Buying my first Valentine 1.. Need some help

Okay so I am buying a used Valentine 1 v1.7 from a local seller. I am getting it for around $150.

I just want to know what the differences between this one, and the most updated valentine 1 are.

When I type the serial number into the Valentine website it says this:
    Serial Number 2678550541
V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.7 gives high performance on all radar bands. Also,it remembers your “mode” setting when shut off. Has stack of four LEDs on front panel for band identification. Front and rear laser.

So can someone please tell me what the differences are? Will this radar still work good? Is it worth the $150? Oh and I see some people talking about 3.xxx, how do I know what this one is?

    Thanks!

Hold the on Knob down and switch the V1 on while continuing to hold the knob down until the display lights come on, then release the knob, the four digits that represent the software version will flash one at a time.

Not sure on the difference between a 1.7 and a 1.8, not been around that long to know. Someone will put you straight for sure.

That is a late 1.7 and is a fine unit.
Difference is newer 1.8 has 1/4" smaller case because VR moved the laser diodes and circuitry,
better laser at the expense of more laser falsing,
better 35.5 Ghz if your LEO has it,
POP, Euro, Ku detection which you don't need,
1.7's seemed to be glitch free and stay in tune appose to the constant problems a 1.8 has encountered, I prefer 1.7 and you got a deal, get your friend to call VR and transfer the ownership and rare repairs should be free.
