Default I have to leave my V1 and move to a new device. Suggestions?

I don't want to do it, but I have too. I have been a V1 user for 10 years, but with my Infiniti FX35 ( I have posted on this a ton ) I can't use the Laser since the car's speed tracking/braking system makes it false every 20 seconds. So I have to drive with it off. Not a huge problem as most of my driving is in Los Angeles cities, but CHP is using more L now, still mostly KA from my experience. But now all the motorcycle cops are using the little Laser guns..... I have noticed them aiming and shooting at me (luckily I saw them way before) and nothing going off...... then they watch me go by. Clearly it is Laser as I am the only car around, and there are reports of them using Laser mainly now..... and I pass at least one every day. I have been very cautious with the PSL the last 2 months, but I think it is time to move to a new detector without the Laser false issue caused by the FX. I have called V1 and they say they are not going to do anything about it and they won't downgrade me to the 1.7 firmware which is supposed to not have the issue. I know I will lose the protection when driving on the open highway, which is rare for me, so I will keep the V1 for trips using a rental car, but I think that is it.
So I need to look elsewhere.
I guess the 9500i is the next best thing, sacrifice some range, but gain less falsing all around and the dreaded Laser false. Unless that detector does the same! haha Have to test it.
Just thought you all might have a suggestion or two.
    Thanks guys.

The best thing you could do in this case is:
    - Turn OFF Laser on your ValentineOne.
    - Get a Laser Jammer.Laser Interceptor has JTG performance and it's not expensive at all.

    - Problem solved. That way you can keep your V1 and the money you wanted to spend for another RD,invest in Laser Jammer. That way you'll have the best radar and LiDAR protection.

Test out the 9500I to see if it’s ok with your laser problem. :? Just keep in mind it’s a totally different animal than the V1. It will take time to get use to how quiet it is, and what its telling you.

Or keep the V1 and just not use laser. Hay would a jammer mess up the speed tracking breaking thing?

Good point on the Jammer. I should look into that.
And yes I know the 9500i will have a learning curve, I just hope the same thing doesn't happen and it goes off all the time from my own car. I should post in their forum and see if there is any experience there.
    Thanks guys.

    Default New Escort

According to Radar Roy, Escort is supposed to be coming out with a new remote unit that incorporates the 9500i GPS technology and should have a better jammer than the current ZR3. Might be worth waiting for. Then you could use your V1 for your rental cars.

lak, even if you get a RD that doesn't interfere with your car,you cannot depend on RD to save you from LiDAR ticket, you know that, right?

Why would you buy another RD and take your chances with LIDAR,if you can get a LJ and have ACTIVE Laser protection?

Can you just disable the FX35's laser system?

Just buy a 1.7 & all issues are solved. Would not trade my 1.7 for any 1.8 made today.

I used to think this way also until I seen the MAJOR weakness a V1 1.7 has vs 35.5 Ka. I mean as much s 10db difference
