Laser Falses gone?

Received my V1 about 3 weeks ago and so far see a great improvement in picking up Ka band from the local department.

My concern is that when driving along certain roads with my BEL's (955 and 795) I would pick up Laser falses. These were always very repeatable and I believe that they were coming from weather units on top of water towers and with my V1 I do not get these Laser falses.

Does the filtering on the V1 work that much better that it knows that these are from another source and not from a police unit or could there be something wrong with the laser detection? I have verified that the settings for Laser are enabled.

For an at home test to see if you're laser detection is alright, try a remote control from your TV or cable box. The original Xbox dvd remote seemed to work really well for me. Although if you don't get any alert, it might just be a false negative, as in, just because you can't get it to alert to a tv remote doesn't mean your V1 is busted.

Sometimes with other detectors and older V1's, extremely strong radar sources such as those from airports and military bases can intrude into the laser circuitry and cause a false laser alert. Apparently the later V1's have been specifically built to avoid that. This could explain the difference.
