Default Weird Laser Encounter!!! Blinder Alerts, but V1 doesn't????

Alright I spent new years on the jersey shore and spen today driving back...Numerous encounters with Instant on X but only one laser

Cruising along at 80mph in a 65 in the slow lane(open highway and I always hang towards left unless i am passing) And out of no where My Blinder starts screaming for like 8 seconds. meaning I was shot for 1-2seconds. but the V1 never alerted. Weird I then see a NY undercover with full tint on the side of the road with all his windows up, so he shot laser through the glass.

But why wouldn't V1 alert to laser.. Was I even shot? There were other cars on the road?

V1 did alert later on the drive to infinity's and is not mounted behind my tint strip.

    Spoiler: show

V1 and other windshield mount detectors rely on scatter. V1 is VERY good at picking up scatter, but it's not guaranteed every single time, the blinder's detectors are mounted in your grill, where the laser is targeting your vehicle, it only makes sense that it would detect laser better than a V1 in the windshield. In any event, it could just be a false alert, tho very unlikely.

A full-tinted cop shooting laser behind glass? i doubt that would work too well for him. Perhaps it's just a false alarm.

If he was running his strobes the Blinder picked them up & alerted. Tested this on my set up. Strobes on the Blinder screams & V1 stays silent.

his strobes or any of his lights weren't on...

He was on the side of the road perfect place to set a laser trap

That happens to me often enough. If the cops are trained properly to aim low at your plate, the beam may not be high enough to hit your windshield, and even a V1 won't see it. Your low-mounted jammer heads have no problem seeing it though. It's happened twice to me in CT. V1 is still the best of the radar detectors to pick up laser thanks to its lens, but nothing beats a laser detector mounted in your grill.
