Default XM Radio and V1 woes

Hey everyone...I've noticed in the cold winter months that driving with XM radio and a V1 is bad news I have a pioneer XM tuner in the trunk that takes a pure digital signal all the way up to the headunit, rather than analog FM modulation or analog AUX input crap....however...I wonder if this is what is causing my V1 to ALWAYS report a weak Ka signal to the rear?....When I switch from XM to radio or CD, the Ka stops instantly...but back to XM, it starts chirping again....sometimes all the way up to 3 "bars"....when I pointed the top of the antenna towards the V1, it shot up to almost full strength....putting it on the roof would be interesting since my seals are old and would probably crack when trying to conceal the wire....is there a way to turn the rear KA antenna off?...ALSO my dad has random KA falses with his whistler pro 78...he has a roadyxt and his antenna is also on the trunk lid....*pulls hair out* Why is it something that receives only, and at a MUCH MUCH lower frequency puts out that kind of crap that high of a frequency??

Make sure that POP is OFF and FILTER 2 is engaged on the Pro-78, and that it's upgraded to REV C. All three significantly help with Ka falsing on the Pro-78... It could very well be from the unit's decent Ka performance picking up junk RD's from afar.

Pop is off on the V1, and also filter 2 is already engaged on the 78 (no rev C yet though)...I know it's not other RD's as it happens from my driveway and I live out in the boonies, and it followed me home all the way from over 60 miles of driving...it's driving me nuts and it only happens when it's cold outside...weird!

I have a XM Roady2 and the V1 installed in my BMW Z4. The XM antenna is mounted on the dash directly below the V1. I use the direct cable input into the car radio and not the FM modulator. The V1 is quiet as a mouse unless a boogie is detected. No compatabilty issues at all.
