    Default Rear Antenna Stronger...Tune-up?

I swear my rear antenna is quite a bit stronger than my front. Either that or is there any logical explanation as to why the v1 holds onto a signal for much longer than it had initially picked it up. (not sure if I explained that clearly)

Anyway, how much does it cost to have a v1 tuned up if its out of warranty? What would a tune-up consist of? Do they just make sure it works right and then send it back, or is there any actual tweaking on their part? Basically has anyone sent it in and then received a noticeably better functioning unit in return. And do I send it back in the original box or what? Also, what type of turnaround time should I expect?

Thanks, and sorry for the loaded question

    Here's one scenario:
If the officer has the radar aimed in your direction of travel (forward-facing etc), then you wouldn't receive as much warning before passing the officer, and the V1's rear antenna would pick it up a lot longer after passing the officer.

o yea, I understand that, I am talking about known falses. If I drive towards them, then go a mile, and u-turn, then drive back the same way I came, I will hold the signal longer from the rear then I ever picked it up from the front.

Too many variables when your driving. Test by going to a parking lot with door openers, but park far enough back that you only get a weak alert. Try rotating the detector 180 degrees and see if either the front or back gives you a significant change in signal strength.

Tuneup depends on what version - if pre 3.851 then maybe. If equal to or later - a tuneup wouldn't do much unless something is broken. If the processor couldn't hold a steady LO freq. an 'E' would appear.

yea I guess I should try that to be sure. I have a 3.819, so would a tune-up be worth doing?
