Default V1- The forward facing king and other good stuff

wow, the more I use my V1 the more amazed I still become.

Lately, I am noticing it is the trend of many CHP to turn off the rear antenna on their stalkers. Therefore, its nice to have strong forward facing detection.

During the last few weeks, I've had a few forward facing encounters (where his front radar is shooting forward and away from the V1). During both times, I've gotten around 1/2 to 1/4 of a mile of forward facing detection.

Its easy to tell the back antenna is off because once you pass him the V1 goes crazy from the rear.

You gotta love the sensitivity of V1

I also got a nice 2 mile warning on a straight road the other day.

You aint kidding. Last night I was coming back from an astronomy outing and ran into a CHP, that I usually catch going the opposite way a long way out, but discovered it is a nice trap they have weaved at this particular location.

The CHP sits up on an on ramp ~100' above the freeway and shoots down at it. This trap is real good since there is nothing for the ka to reflect off of except for other cars. Last night I had two rabbits out front less than an 1/8 of a mile and the ka ramp up took me by surprise. I was only doing 75 in a 65 so the PSL took nothing to reach once I heard the ka alert. Still, nicely laid out trap they have. My V1 went from none to 2 LED's brap brap pointing to the front to pegged in 3 seconds pointing to the rear.

A few minutes later I ran into 2 more CHP with the front antenna on. I easily picked them up due to the curves in the freeway giving reflections.

So far so good with my V1.

That trap was exactly how I got my last ticket, but much scarier! LASER, not Ka!! Sneaky CHP smoked me!
