Default I saw this and well...I need more money.

I saw this set up and I fell in love. There are a few problems though. The V1 is mounted in the rear: No laser alerts, but he's got a Blinder so he should be good. It looks like the rear antenna is blocked, but depending upon what the material is blocking it he could be O.K. Also, I would try to mount it higher. So check it out everyone. By the way, I love the car to.

It most definitely is a bad place. I'd use the same set up with the V1 mounted differently and LI. It's still sweet though you have to admit. The whole computer thingy.

Love the on-screen alerts, but....isn't he covering up half the antenna's horn by burying it in the liner? Wonder how much that takes away from the detector's sensitivity?

Radar should be able to pass through the liner. I'm worried about if there's bodywork somewhere in there to. A nice big hunk of steel or aluminum would block it for sure. Then he's got sub woofers right under it shaking the hell out of it. I'd find a better spot for the V1, but it's still sweet.

I think he ruined the rear deck of a very nice car by doing that myself. He should have just went with a remote mount detector. He has the money for that car he should have been able to afford the right detector for the job.

My biggest concern would be the impact of the massive magnetic fields from those sub woofers directly under it. The magnets on the rear of those sub woofers are dam near touching the bottom of the detector. Thats not good at all, in fact that's down right terrible.

    I didn't even think about the magnets...Yikes!

The thing I want is the screen display with "Software One" It's way out of line of sight though...I don't want it, I changed my mind. It's still cool though.

There's a sweet ass in dash PC system that runs Windows. They were priced between just under $1,000 - $2,700, I'm even thinking they had one that was for a single DIN install that was closer to $700 - $800 (Windows XP) which isn't a very bad price for an in dash PC, thats about the same you would pay for just a laptop, and considerably less than people are going to be paying for the new 9500ci...

The thing does freaking everything, if you added up the individual prices of all this does its a steal at this price. Its also running Vista Aero in the pics so it must have a decent video card driving the display.

I think for the purposes of a show car it's perfect. The RD is concealed and with the computer interface for the alerts in the console the install is bad a$$.

However, In the real world speeding around in that configuration would be problematic. The biggest problem I see is alerts being out of the direct line of sight. The V1s arrows should be available at a glance while you can still see the road. That's why I don't think you can beat a top drivers side RVM location for the V1. You can scan the road ahead, scan your rear view mirror and scan the V1 in one short pass.

But for car shows it's awesome. 8)

Seriously, at that point, just get a STR-R or 9500ci.

I would have gotten the stealth one for the BMW in dash data cluster vs the windows software.
