I caved today and called Valentine for the tracking number. Apparently, it's due in my hands before 7:00 PM Pacific...I'm literally jumping at the sound of every truck that goes by out front, and my wife had to cheer me up when a FedEx truck drove past without stopping.

    IT'S HERE!

My wife laughed at my extremely 1337 play-by-play of the FedEx truck coming up the street, the driver getting out, and seeing the box that was the right size and shape headed towards our stairs.

Time to do some quick programming (X off, POP off, J off until I trust it not to junk cops), and then we're going huntin'!

3.863. I figure I'll hold off on saying, "Nice unit, can I has a upgradez pleez?!" for a few months, especially if all 3.864 adds is a Euro switch.

You should be happy you got the tried-and-true release

All of us asking that have an agenda: We want to get guinea pigs for 3.864 ;-)

So it's been a few days, the V1 has already saved me a few hundred (one save that I'm not sure even my X50 would have made), and I'm happy with everything.

Except my mount. It's ghetto. Like, wire taped to the corner of my windshield ghetto. I'd love to get rid of the suction cups and move the thing to a more centrallized location on the windshield, and I can accomplish both goals--if I find a way to strap the visor mount to the fabric on the ceiling of the car. It would fit above the RVM quite nicely there, and I wouldn't have to be so neurotic about it being angled a degree and a half off-axis because of its windshield positioning.

I know the Dual Lock fasteners were mentioned earlier in this thread--would the adhesive on those stick to the roof of a car, and would the locks hold the visor mount in? Also, is there any way to run the wire from the lighter socket to the V1 without using packaging tape to secure it to the A-pillar? Any way I can tuck it into the corner between the pillar and the windshield (keeping it external--no hard-wiring in the Corolla) without using tape?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm 99% of the way there with this system, I'm just a couple apples short of the full basket at this point (no insanity jokes, please :P ).
