Took the plunge
Ordered my V1 tonight. I decided to hold off on the remote display until my tax refund check comes in (I talked the wife into letting me charge the V1 itself beforehand--go me!).
I can't wait to get my hands on this thing--if I'm not home to sign when they deliver, will FedEx leave it at my apartment office, or will they try to redeliver/hold it at their office until I pick it up?
if nobody is to sign for it, they'll keep it. You better get the tracking # so you can pick it up by the fedex facility at least.
if you trust people that live around you, you can leave a signed note stating to leave it and they will. Both sign AND print your name so they know it's you. I did that both with my wife's new V1 order and when I got mine back from being repaired.
Considering that I live in an apartment complex, I think I'll just make my wife drive to FedEx to pick it up if we're not here to sign for it.
I trust my next door neighbors, and the guys directly below us seem cool enough, but the two girls who live down and to the left are GHET-TO! If they didn't steal it, the people who stole their jewelry and TV a few months ago when they got stupid and left their sliding glass door open certainly would.
Yeah, its better to not have the worry... personally I live in the boonies and we have an enclosed porch, so they always leave things in there, and they are never bothered... but at an apartment complex, I'd want it in my hands, or still with fed-ex.

Does Valentine send you a message when your detector ships? I placed the order last night, and because it's the first time I've used our credit card, I'm concerned it might have flagged somewhere on some computer system as possible fraud, therefore holding up the order.
I'm also very impatient. I want my V1!
No, with my experience (I used overnight afternoon) the v1 just arrived the next morning. I'm sure you can mail VR asking for the tracking info if you'd like to obsess.Originally Posted by bcorby

I very recently ordered one and didn't receive any shipping notification. It just showed up a few days after ordering.
you gotta ask them for it wafter you order.
