hard wire V1 in a 2006 Civic Ex Sedan

hey guys, i was trying to help my buddy hard wire his V1. only problem is that honda in it's infinite wisdom decided to use different harnesses on the coupe and sedan (the fact that i have a Si could also make a difference, but i digress). according to civic forums, i tapped the right wire, but V1 didn't turn on. the unit was on, i grounded it for the test.. what's the problem? i didn't have a voltmeter handy, so i couldn't test.

does anyone have a 06 EX sedan that's hardwired their car? if so, please help! thanks!!

I have a 02 LX Civic. So not sure how much they changed since then. But I tapped into the Radio fuse and have had no problems. Running my conceal display as well through it.

Did you tap into a wire? How do you know that wire is live? How do you know if that wire turns on and off with respect to the key's position?

Make sure you have it grounded properly. When I hardwired my RD into my Accord, I had to try a few different grounding points. Some screws that looked like they were surely attached to metal did not have a proper ground for some reason. I had to try about 5 to get a grounded one.

And I would hardwire the power wire straight to the fuse box.

thats what i did...although im looking for a good power block for everything at the moment

In my Acura(and past Acura) there have been male spade connectors in the fuse panel, one switched, one full time, one with lights, and two others I cant remember what they send power from. IIRC there should be some of those in your car. Tap into the switched one, and you should be good to go. If there arent any of these go to RS and get an add a circuit.

Its probably differnt in a newer honda, but I used the accesory one to hardwire my V1 in my integra.
