    Default v1 saved me!

I just came back from a trip to Nor Cal. I've barely had my radar detector for over a week and im already sold on it. Though i had alot of false alerts on X and Kband going up and back through Nor Cal. It saved me quite a few times and alerted me close to a mile and half away of a CHP. I couldn't believe that the majority of the CHP just leave there radar on while they drive, so its like a gift from god using my V1. I was so impressed when i was getting a rear Ka alert on the 101. And watching in my rvm some lights turn on flashing and watching a guy getting pulled over. While I was alerted to it, but given well enough of a warning. I loved getting an alert and watching a few sec later a CHP giving a ticket or waiting on the side of the road to give a ticket. Though I wont totally depend on it ( you really never know they could be pacing you) I'm a V1 fan for life!

My save was in Hollywood i was speeding around 85. And this was also my first Ka alert on the V1. I looked up at my detector and saw it was Ka so i dropped the car down a gear to 65-70. And started to look back and I couldnt see him at all. Maybe about a few sec later the CHP comes flying by with his lights on and pulls the guy ahead of me.

Oh, that is the sweetest of saves. Without the alert, it sounds very likely that you'd have been bagged.

You can turn off the X Band in California and avoid those falses. X-band is not used anywhere in California.

Ill think about turning off the x-band then.. but i unfortunately have a speed sign outside my house. And everytime i leave my house im getting a full x-band alert.

But what are the K-Band alerts? Are they speed drones i been hearing about?
