Default New V1 stealth install idea: black box under RVM behind toll

So I have a V1 in the mail, a stealthone waiting to be installed, yet I still don't have a definite plan on where to actually put the V1.

I want it to be hidden since I will be in Boston and do not want to leave it visible when parked (and do not want to deal with the hassle of removing it and putting in the glove box each time). I threw around the idea of installing in the access panel of the roof from here...http://www.540i6.com/v1.html...but I am worried about it not being level and there is some metal in the area.

I also tossed around the idea of mounting either in the rear center headrest or just in a box on the rear shelf a la http://talktax.com/lidatek%20install/. But then I would probably need to get another speaker since its so far away (does the stealthone go through the stereo or use the V1's audio?) and the wiring would be a pain since its all the way in the back.

I was sitting in the car today contemplating my options when I realized how simple it was. Just mount below the RVM. But not any old mount. I have a Fastlane/EZPass thing stuck to the window right behind the RVM. If I could build some sort of black inconspicuous looking box the put the V1 inside and stick it under the RVM but behind the toll pass it would be completely invisible and so much simpler. The toll pass would hide it from the outside view, and the box would hide it from behind and the sides.

What do you guys think? There should be no problem with the toll pass interfering with the RD, right?

I thought about doing something similar. I was thinking if it were possible to mount the suction cups to the EZ pass device itself or would the weight of the v1 tear it all down??

Won't the toll pass block your front LIDAR sensor?

I just tried it with my 8500 just now. The suction cups stick to the part of the toll pass with the sticker on the back (just big enough for it) and it holds to the window, surprisingly. I pulled at it lightly and it stayed put, but I am not sure it would over a long period of time with rough roads and bumps.

But the problem is that when its mounted like this to the toll pass, the front of the rd is sticking out underneath and visible from the outside. I still want to mount it directly behind so its completely hidden.

And yes, I am aware that this probably blocks laser, but I am planning on getting a jammer soon so its not a big deal.

Posted this in a neighboring thread:

In my Toyota Corolla, if I have the V1 attached to the visor, it has a clear view out the front and back windows, but cannot be seen by someone outside the car, even if they're hunched over, looking through the window on the driver's side.

I'm working on this too. So far the major design flaw is how lazy I am.

Here's what I'm running now, no interference.

I have mine hidden by the visor...cant be seen <unless you REALLY
REALLY> know what to look for....see link in my sig, might give you
    some ideas.

I personally dont understand this mounting @ the gauge cluster...
i know its close to where your eyes go <specially if you THINK
your speeding & get hit w/ I/O> but mounting at the speedo/gauge
cluster is SO OBVIOUS...and COMPLETELY visible by anyone
who walks up to your door <like a cop or crack head thief !>

a true stealth install HIDES the remote display <behind a panel>
or out of view from the drivers window...
