Default Is extra mute button redundant when you have concealed display?

I'm planning to put the concealed display on top of the steering column. Any thoughts?

if you want an easier accessible mute button than on top of the column then its not redundant. up to where you want it to be

True. My concealed display is in the perfect spot for me to easily hit the mute. A second remote mute would be redundant in my situation.

Where do you put your concealed display?

BTW, can the concealed display be turned off without touching the main V1 unit in case you get pulled? Having a concealed display that lights up like a Christmas tree on the steering column is probably the last thing you want when the LEO is standing right next to you.

Had this happen to me. He pulled me cause my headlight was out and I was on my way to the auto store to buy a new one.

Mine is right in front of my gear shift just below my radio.

From VR the concealed display has to be physically unplugged to disable it, or wire in a switch to the 12 volt line of the display..

I have a kill switch wired in to the left of my steering column to quick kill the V1 itself if necessary. I use it to turn on power to the unit after I have started my vehicle.

its my experiance that the mute buttons are NOT redundant...
when connect a remote display the factory mute button (on the
    main unit) is disabled.
