Default Why mount V1 on the passenger side?

It's not the most convenient place, especially if you mount/unmount the V1 a lot from the driver's side. Is making it harder for the LEO to see if you get pulled a reason?

It's a good spot for it if you have the concealed display. Keeps the detector out of your way.

When I get my concealed display I'm going to mount mine on the passenger side. If I get pulled over its hard for the LEO to see and it's not in my way.

If a RD is not illeagal in your state, then mount it where you get the best range from it! If a LEO sees it when your pulled over, its too late anyway at that point. He cant give you more of a ticket. Just my opinion!

LEO may also be more apt to give you a break if he doesn't see the RD. If he sees the RD, you most likely will not get a warning. Obviously some LEOs may not care, but I think most will ticket anyone with a RD when given the chance.

you both make good points. I always kept mine high and behind the RVM on the right side, but I now have a BMW 750 with the solar coated windshield and have to keep it at the base of the windshield where there is a cut out in the coating. Not very stealth, not great for picking up radar, but seems to be my only choice!

Do LEO's still give warning these days? Most LEO's are hired to generate revenue for the state. If they don't get enough "customers", they'll get fired.

I always thought Local Cops are the generate revenues and State Troopers not but apparently both pretty much do but I say Local Cops are the worst by far.

I've found easy access to the mute button is ESSENTIAL for comfortable operation of the V1, so I like it mounted as close to me as possible.
