    Default tune up?

what exactly does a tune up do, and why would it be neccessary??

I have had my V1 for a year-ish, and it has been hard-wired high by the rear view mirror ever since purchase.. (so it has gotten pretty hot because of the sun some days...)

I am not experiencing any issues, but would like it to be running its best...

Would a tune up be a good idea?

    oh im running 3.861

    thanks!

I would send it in myself. I sent my mine in last dec. and will have it tuned every year. VR recalibrates your V1 so it is tuned and as sensitive as possible

Send it in for a tune-up. It cant hurt. They probably wont charge you since your the original owner.

What are the tell-tale signs that your V1 is out of tune other than the E on the display?

loss of sensitivity overall or in 1 band...u prob wont even realize it until you get it tuned and see how much more sensitive the v1 actually was before..but id say tune once per year and you should be fine

Are regular tune ups still neccesary with the new units?

Or is it only neccesary for the older analogue units?
