who's the biggest V1 nerd?

whos the biggest V1 nerd on the board? i.e. - who knows the most about them? Jazzy? Or someone else?

I wouldn't call him a 'nerd' by any extent, but by FAR and wide the person who knows the most about the V1 inside and out is Mike Valentine. (MikeV), whom sadly does not post on the board (except for 2 posts in total).

But what do you need to know exactly (about the V1)? You can always try calling VR, and speaking with a tech. there?

local kid selling a V1 fairly cheap. I wanted to verify the version etc. before buying it, and he doesnt know. Do I just go by the S/N..do I need anything else from him? Anything to check to be safe?

Look the S/N up on the website, or plug it in and hold the button down until flashes the version at you.

The only stuff you need from him is the detector and a way to get power to it from your car, all that stuff can be bought online if you dont have it.

Just ask the damn question next time.....

I didnt ask in the beginning because I was just going to PM whoever everyone suggested as the V1 guru. I'll give what you said a shot.

tea the SN will tell if it need any major upgrades like Pop or w/e but you rele want to find out the rev. number..like mine is 3.826...u do this by turning the unit off...hold down the knob and turn it on but keep holding it down..wait like 5 seconds and all lights should lihgt up..click the knob just once and it will display your rev. number
