Default V1 vrs Bel STI 12 thousand mile review

Thats right 12 thousand miles running head to head.. oh yes before you tell me its not fair they interfere with each other... I did some testing to prove they dont interfere with each other before I started my review. I spaced them 3 feet apart in a Semi Truck. I tested the units seperately and together against radar drones and LEO's and came to the conclusion they do not affect alert time or range if both are on at the same time. Now for my conclusions so far cause im not done...

    BEL STI manuf date 35-2007
    V1 3.64 version

    Flat road no curves

X-Band V1 wins but not as much as I expected, less then 2 seconds most cases and alot of times its a tie or STI by a second. Win to V1 slightly.

K-band V1 and STI are so close but V1 by the Slightest of margins.

Ka 35.5 Very close, to close to call, both respond same time most of time.
Ka 34.7 on flat roads very close but STI is a little better, about as much better on ka34.7 as V1 is on k band vrs STI.
Ka 33.8 so far has been a tie, but need more testing to pick a winner.

Here is the thing I found shocking

Hills or slight elevation changes.. The STI smokes on Ka 34.7. Its not even close
I came to the conclusion the v1 cant see 34.7 over a small grade.. Several times I got 2 beeps from the STI and none from the V1, only to continue another half mile both silent then both alert for the next 2 miles until reaching LEO in the median a total of 2.5 miles from STI'2 first alert. This happened 30 percent of the time on 34.7 in slightly hilly terreign.

The other freqs 35.5 and 33.8 dont seem to be affected by hills and results are they alert at the same time for the most part, they Tie in my opinion.

Laser... V1 , and I mean its not even close.. out of being shot 13 times the V1 alerted to all 13 so far and the STI alerted to 3.

If the V1 was more hot on 34.7 it would be a no brainer for me, but as it stands STI will be onguard in California and Virginia forsure and all states with mostly 34.7. V1 onguard in Laserprone Ohio and all states using x and k band and little to no 34.7.

I like running them both, I get tech mode from STI and arrows from V1.

    To be continued..

x2. I'm not sure why this is, but I agree 100%. My STi always destroyed my V1 on any 34.7 with hills.

Thanks for the review, and I look forward to the updates.

x3. I found that my Sti is hotter than my V1 .863 on 34.7 as well. (well at least when the Sti was working...)

What happened to "don't buy the STi unless you absolutely need the stealth???" Sounds like a good buy to me in a lidar-less state.

This is one reason I sold my V1 and picked up an STi. The police in my area mainly use Stalker Ka band 34.7 and the STi picks it up so easily. In my most recent posted video, I picked it up from 4000 feet away while behind a trailer the whole time:

Even through dense traffic, and picking up I/O scatter, it has amazing performance vs. Ka 34.7 :

    STi all the way!
