    Default Speed Sign Ghosts?

OK, my V1 not only alerted to a speed sign today, but it gave me three bogeys! Signal meter was maxxed out, too - the poor front end was probably completely swamped.

Definitely sounds like you saw a ghost.

What band was the speed sign?

Yeah, that happens, its also a big bummer seeing this on Ka band as more signs go towards Ka from K.

K band. Incidentally, there must be a lot of speeders on this stretch of road, as this is the second time in the last few months they've put a speed sign in this particular spot.

In Arizona there are speed boards all over the place and they are all k band sources.

My 2.879 software revision doesn't have a problem with any of them and they don't seem to cause any ghosting even when the detector is at full range.

However, I need to send the detector in for a tune up, it's been nearly 9 years since I bought it.

It will be interesting to see after the tune up whether there is any ghosting.

I would send it in for an upgrade to get the 3.872, or wait until the end of the year because from the board talk, many people have said that V1 might have something up its sleeve before the year is out.

    I hope

To be honest the detector at the moment seems to be running fine for me and the ghosting issue would drive me nuts as in Phoenix we have the speed boards everywhere.

My thought was to send it in for the $45 tune and then if something new comes out I could buy that and use this as a backup.

I hope that they do come up with something new as I love gadgets!
