ok, it is normal for the performance to drop when it gets hot, it reduces its performance to save the electrical components. You would find someway of mounting it that keeps it out of the sun and cool. Also I would wait to upgrade until some kind of better update comes out. I am hoping something comes out before the year is up, maybe some kind of performance upgrade.

I called them in the same situation of ghosting, I have not see any ghost yet but wanted to upgrade to the latest f/w and they want $159

They can check for performance for $45.00

I said my still under warranty, and she said sent it back, if they find some thing wrong, they will fix for free of charge, but they won't give you the f/w for free

    You will pay for s/h

Seem like customer service is really suck

Well it's not firmware per se -- it's an industry practice to use revision numbers and version strings to also denote changes to the hardware (i.e. switching to a different chip for cost reasons, etc). For VR to upgrade your 3.864 to 3.872, it'd actually cost them money in terms of physical parts. I don't see why they should do it for free, unless the upgrade fixes some defect with the unit (this has not been confirmed to be the case yet)

An upgrade may not require parts change, just an on board program and flash the f/w

the shipment in june-aug has 3.864 and now 3.872, I don't think they fab-out the board and relay-out the components/circuit with-in 2 months, and complete testing with new f/w in the same time

The F/W version can be always change by S/W Eng, but not revision, so Eng can just tweak and any day can be 3.8XX, the major change was from 1.7 to 1.8, this possible relate hardward/cost reduction

They just want your money, that's all
