I'd say this thinking is outdated. Having a RD that detects only police radar is a good thing. There is no advantage to detecting the local pharmacy's door opener.
The Cheetah system is definitely better, since it's alert are street specific and the Belscort alerts are radial. But this statement is overstated. The Belscort system shows distance to the camera and also direction to the camera, so there is plenty of information given for the driver to determine where the camera is and if it is a threat or not.
I'd say it's completely obvious at this point, that if Belscort wanted to make a windshield mounted RD more sensitive than the V1, they could do it with existing technology.
Yet, in all the posts you can link, none of them will document anyone getting a ticket because of TrueLock. I, however, can post a link of someone receiving a ticket due directly to his noisy V1. It's my opinion that it this point, that Truelock is no more dangerous than a noisy RD that tends to get ignored and is probably safer. It's been almost 2 years now. I guess this feature will be attacked to the end of time, no matter how successful.
I've had experiences similar to those, but if I was told that I had to get rid of one of my RDs, it would be the V1 and it's not close. I much prefer both my 9500ci and my 9500ix to my V1. So, I guess I am not a changed RD user.
Just to clarify, most Stalkers operate on 34.7 GHz. There are "a few" ATR guns that operate at 34.2 or 35.2 GHz.
BTW, that is true about the tuneups. They usually replace some transistors that have fallen out of spec, or simply put in new transistors that have a higher gain than the old ones.

Speed traps are anywhere and everywhere. There are no limitations.
I'd hardly say the Belscort's focus is rebadging RDs. Almost all of the RD industry's innovation is coming from Belscort at the present time.
I'm sure you're an aware driver, but I'm not sure what this has to do with TrueLock never costing anyone a ticket that we have heard of, yet the constant noise of the V1 has.
I switch cars all the time, since I travel a lot for business. I've been having to use my V1 lately, since my girl has stolen my 9500ix. I am going to buy myself another 9500ix(I think Santa is bringing me one), because I prefer it when I travel over the V1 by a wide margin. So, I'm keeping all three, the 9500ci in my car with laser turned off(LI handles that job), the V1 also hardwired for the arrows in my car with X and K off(9500ci handles that job). I prefer the 9500ix when I travel. While not quite as sensitive as the V1, the 9500ix is still very good, is pleasantly quiet and the it addresses the constantly growing RLC and speed camera issue, which is especially key in unfamiliar territory. Switching cars frequently with a V1 and a Cheetah product is not practical, when the 9500ix handles both jobs by itself.
No advice here since I’m too new. Anyway, I just returned from a 500-mile round trip from Yuma to Phoenix and back to Yuma. I’m flying blind until I can decide how much to spend. In my demographic, I could actually use the V1 and the ci. The desert run is about 175-miles of nothing but cactus and cops and plenty of sagebrush for ambush. In this case, I can see the value of the V1. HOWEVER, on the Eye-10 and anywhere else in the Phoenix area, it’s all cameras with low powered k-band; both stationary and SUV mounted. Likewise, the city was crawling with tag-team radar traps! For me, it depends on the likely threat in your area, the manner in which you drive, and the all mighty dollar.

You said it all. It is the same in the RD world, the dollar. I wish I had the Escort CI and the V1. But I don't. Do like I did and try the 30 day on either one, or both. Then you can decide what works for you.
All you will hear is get the V1 for highway, 9500 for city, get jammers for your area. All are correct. Read lots of post on all of them. Then forget most of that and put them in your car and drive. Good luck to you
Am I the only one that does not "speed" in a city setting.....i.e. Big Metro Areas or even smaller cities?? It really bothers me when I see people (with or without RD's) go 15-20mph over the 25mph or 35mph limit in town where there are stop lights at every other intersection?I love my V-1.....had it for a long time now. It is a true gem on the highway. In the city, yes, it does detect signals from non-police sources, but then again, I am not going over the limit at outrageous amounts.I do wish it had color band LED's....because they are just cool. But I have no problems id'ing the radar with audio.
Some of the PSLs around here are amazingly low. For instance, PCH is a 6 lane road and is posted at 35mph. 35? I have a ton of roads like that around here. I don't go ripping through the neighborhood on the 2 lane roads, but the main roads around here all seem to have artificially low PSLs, which makes for easy pickings for the locals on revenue patrol.
