Default Re: V1 range vs. Ka/K Band range

Was reading your sig and i was just curious on your settings. You turn X band off, but put it in little L while on the highway. All Little L does is mute X band below 6 LED's, if X Band is off, your detector is going to alert EXACTLY the same in A and little L, why bother changing it.

Additionally, i'm curious why little L on the HIGHWAY, and A around town... i would think in most cases you would want to do the opposite? Due to the X band audio alert suppression of little L (even though this is moot in your case because you have it off), it would help keep the detector a little more quiet.

Cool, so my hope was correct that it takes almost full intensity for them to get a reading.

dragonzsoul is very correct in his settings, logic modes affect K band automuting.
CHP were never allowed to even use radar until '99 at which point they bought all Ka Stalker 34.7
We have to automute K band at unlimited strength on the freeway or shut K band off.
The reason we release K automute around the city is that some locals and Sheriffs pose the only K threat.
Unlike OH & NJ we are fortunate that X band is not used at all.
Laser has not even been in our arsenal until the last year or so.

Little L does mute K band also. I have mine set to unmute at 4 LED's and after 30 seconds.

hahaha V1 dave answered your question, but yeah, that's why my settings are as is. i hate the K-band drones on the highway that are in the bay area. i used to have K-band automute set for 4 or 6 dots, but that wasn't enough.

i love my settings =) when V1 goes off on the highway, it definitely gets my attention.

that's not enough for my settings unfortunately. i used to run like that in the city to deal with the grocery stores... these days, i just manually mute if it bugs me. i like having my highway mode =)
