    Default Erratic K band alerts

Has anyone got an explanation for recieiving erratic, seemingly random, brief bursts of K alert on and off over several (>10) miles? I have now experienced this twice with my V1 (3.863, POP off), and initailly assumed it was because I was near a vehicle with another RD or other interference source. However, it did not track with any adjacent vehicle and strangely disappeared almost as qucikly as it appears (though it may last (on and off) upwards of 30 minutes when it has occurred). The alerts are clearly falses of some sort, but are not being caused by anything in my own car as they have only occurred on a couple of occasions. They are not like typical falses - no ramp up, just a sudden K burst of 4 or more dots that lasts just a few seconds and quickly disappears, only to be repeated multiple times every thirty seconds or so. Then for no apparent reason they will disappear. In all other respects, the detector is working fine - I drove 2 thousand miles with it over the holidays and this just occurred once in all of that distance. I do recall however a similar thing happening a few weeks ago also. Any thoughts?

Any drones visible? Are you still under warranty?

Interesting since you have POP off. Is this common or just a 1 time occurance? Are you using the same car? didn't get a new one?

A drone is like speed or construction signs that emit radar signals. I would not worry if you got it a couple of times.

No... this wasn't your typical K band speed sign - which I generally pick up 1-2 miles away with a gradual ramp up and ramp down after passing. These are 3-5 second bursts, sometimes full strength, sometimes less (arrows behaving erratically), then silence. 30-60 seconds or so later, this repeats and so on for half an hour or so of driving. I had to turn off for several miles until this finally disappeared. (simply turning off and on did not clear the problem).

Where was this and what road? I have encountered drones putting out pulses of k band before, but not for miles like you described.

Sounds like a false from an Audi to me.

Maybe there was an Audi Q7 or higher end Mercedes with radar based active cruise control near you. Did the arrow always point to one direction for all the alerts?
