Default "LED brake lights" laser false question

I got some laser false alert when I was sitting in traffic yesterday. Should I be receiving a laser alert that's on and off continuously if I'm in traffic?

haha, well not normally, but as stated, many GM SUVs will set off the laser alert, as will most Infinity SUVs b/c of some adaptive cruise control or crash avoidance system or something for stupid people that can't drive. I personally don't need a computer to tell me that I am going to hit something... but whatever

It would be kind of strange to catch laser scatter on this section while sitting in traffic.

from: Unknown road to: 37.780996,-122.408681 - Google Maps

I know there's a bridge on top of me in that section, but it's not likely that someone is shooting LIDAR and can actually pick up laser scatter along that whole stretch. The laser false comes only when everyone is in a complete stop. It's not there when everyone is moving.

Definitely sounds like someone's brake lights to me, possibly a stray neon sign coincidentally placed. Another thing to consider might be if it's not foggy, the sun can bounce off of other cars and trigger it sometimes.

This is straight from Mike Valentine himself who is known as "W8MM" over at this Porsche forum.

    V1 question...What is the "J"?? - 6speedonline.com Forums

"The Trailblazer/Envoy thing is caused by neon in the CHMSL. It's a tough nut to crack. The ignition repetition rate is in the many kHz range, which is far outside the normal laser gun rate. However, there is a "squegging" of the neon plasma that occurs at a hundreds-per-second rate that fools the laser detection circuits, since these events repeat in the expected time range for police laser pulses. We're working on this (and have been for years), but there's nothing to report as yet.

A growing-bigger problem now seems to be laser assisted "Intelligent" cruise controls on Infinity FX35, FX45, and QX56 SUVs. What a PItA. They perfectly replicate laser speed-gun signals. We're working on that one, too!"

The question is, why didnt I get laser alerts from the x50, or 9500i traveling behind these same vehicles. The only answer I can come up with is, because the Escort isnt as sensitive to laser.

    Ed McMahon reference....excellent!

Following a trailblazer the other day my V1 alerted laser each and every time he tapped the breaklights. Plus, the guy had a cobra on the windshield. He was a rolling radar false nightmare.
