3.813 doesn't pick up k door opener...

Just got my V1 and put it in the car for a trip to the grocery store. (Only one in town) My other detectors, cobra and X50, both picked up the opener but the V1 didn't peep.

I also noticed that the cobra picked up the V1 but the V1 didn't notice the cobra

Anyway, I got it cheap so I guess I'll send it in for a tune.

So the 813 is supposed to be a good one?

Have you checked if k-band is turned off. Go into programming mode and see if option 2 arrow is up or down, should be up for on.

Looks to be in pristine condition. These things must be VERY fragile. The snake picked up the K door opener and the VI didn't peep when I pulled right up to the door.

The VI gives a full X alert when I move the VI near it.

Maybe I should have stuck with the X50... I gave it to my Bro in law on the way home because I had the "legendary" VI waiting for me

If you got it off of ebay, and I know you confirmed that it was not stolen. Likely it was dumped is because it did not detect anything. Send it in for a tune, cost $45.

A properly tuned V1 is amazing. During our testing mine easily matched the STi-R unit on another vehicle. I don't baby it but I don't abuse it. I don't leave it in the sun or in the cold, I don't bang it around and I keep it in its case. Just think of it as a $400 dollar piece of equipment, how much abuse do you really want to give it, and still turst that it is working ok?

Jerry's normal windshield mounted STi crapped out at GOL. Languy99 is referring to an STi-R they tested up in Michigan that performed rather poorly as compared to the others that have been tested/used by other forum members. I don't remember what the explanation was for the poor performing STi-R.

no I am not, we had a 9500ci that performed poorly and a STi-r that did great, and my detector and the sti-r where both as far as they could go and both were doing great.
