My New V1(What's The Deal?)

I have been very angry the last several days with the way I was treated by the customer service department at V1. (don't want to open that can of worms again),

My pride was telling me to ship the "sum bich" back to em and tell them to shove it. But here is the deal, this thing has better than average performance even by V1 standards.
Example, when I bought my first V1 back in January, it consistently gave me a 1.1 mile alert on a K band drone that I do all my testing on.

This new one is giving me like 1.6 to 1.7 mile notice consistently! on the same drone. There has been 0 change to the drone because I am getting the same alerts on my other units.

Is there that much variation from one unit to another?

Pride hurts like hell when it has to be swallowed, but with this kind of performance I don't know if I have a choice.

Wow thats a pretty solid distance, by chance is it one of those construction signs that you can change the writing on?
Here in IL those are the only things i can get a STRONG alert from at that distance 1.5 miles+

It is just a standard speed read out. It just puzzles me why one new V1 alerts at 1.1 miles and the other is 1.7 miles.

I posted in another thread that I think there is sometimes variations between units From what I've seen in my own testing I believe it's true. This is not unusual with products. Canon has a recall out right now with all its 1d series cameras for autofocus problems. Yet in the same serial number range some have no problems, some a few and others severe. It shouldn't happen, but it does.

The horn in your older v1 may have fallen out of alignment or maybe you put the v1 in a different place when you reinstalled it? Those are the only things i can think of but i am not an expert by any means

I thought that with mine and sent it in for a tune up. It came back tuned, but doesn't pick up K band any better than it did before. All it does now is find more X band grocery store doors.

The older V1 is a brand new one as well. I always place my V1 in the same position, up as high on the windshield as possible.

I ran two of my v1s side-by-side and found differences as well. Sometimes the older one would detect first, sometimes the newer one. I don't know what to tell you except that there are more differences than we think.

I'd love to have a third one that is the same firmware as either of mine. Then I could run two same models side-by-side and see what that results in.
