My V1's Rear KA Alert

Hi All,

I have been looking around but not posting too much due to real world issues but I want to share my V1's (AKA Valerie) radar encounter.

Me and my folks were coming home from our shopping spree at K mart and I get this KA alert from my girl pointing forward. So I take a look at my odometer and it says 74.6 and I make a mental note of it. My family is looking all over for the cop and see none and think my girl is broken but I tell them that that is what my girl Valerie does best alerting to cops before you can see them.

So for the next 0.2 miles it goes off and on KA arrow pointing forward. We come to this intersection which we have to turn left at to get home. I make a rare So cal complete stop looking in all directions but see nothing. My girl is alerting but at level 2 of 8 so I think I still have a ways to go. As we make the left I notice my girl changes directions and point rear and then goes all out on the strength beaming a proud 8 of 8.

I look back and catch him in a white unmarked cruiser parked on the same side street as the direction we are now going sitting there waiting for someone to either be speeding or run the stop sign. So for the next 1.5 miles my girl is still locked on 8 of 8 at about 1.6 miles she starts to very gradually climb down. The last brap brap was heard at a total of 2.1 miles later starting from the time my girl went to full alert after making the left turn.

Overall I am really impressed because one my girl only goes off on KA and laser and it has been a good 9 months since I have had an encounter that lasted over 1.0 miles let alone 2.1! So this one is for the record books at last as far as rear detection goes. It wasn't a "save" per say but none the less I am happy.

I was so happy that I rewarded my girl by turning on K band and driving through a shopping center full of door openers so she could eat all the K band she wanted alive. Of course I congratulated my girl and we are both very happy now.

Maybe I'm alone here, but you repeatedly calling your V1 "my girl" made me a bit uncomfortable. Naming your RD is one thing but dating, proposing, and walking the aisle is another. I know I shouldn't say anything unless I have something nice to say so I'll end with this: Nice tracking history on the cop. =)

We have agreed to take things slow but with 2.1 KA detections like this it is so hard not to move forward into that level you know?

I've actually have thought about buying another V1 and putting 2 of them in my top drawer and waiting like a week and hoping they mate and make a super V1.
