Need Valentine One Advice..

May have screwed myself here..(Not a first) Need some advice... Last week I sucked it up and ordered a Visual Alert Radar light from Marc Parnes to use with my V1 in tandem with my HARD unit..(This is a motorcycle application) .Cost was almost $100. I had Marc make me a custom unit to my specs.. Just got it. I figured TWO warning devices are better than one..

I ran the wire.. perfect length.. have the actual LED part mounted.. looks perfect... went to plug it in to the little hole on the left side of the V1 which I thought was the audio outlet hole... and it isn't... DOH!!...

I called Valentine One and told them my audio outlet hole was messed up because the little jack wouldn't plug in and they informed me that the V1 doesn't come with an audio outlet hole and that the little hole on the side was the speaker.. and that I'd have to pay them $50 for this... (pic below)..

Please tell me there's some cheaper way .. an alternative around this problem.. A way to plug my Visual Alert without paying another $50-60 to Valentine...and keep in mind.. I already have a HARD unit plugged into the power port..

Any advice would be appreciated...

There's no practical way to get audio from the V1 without the remote audio adapter.

Technically it might be possible for an electronics guru to add an audio jack to the main V1 unit with a small circuit/transformer, but IMHO it wouldn't be worth the time, effort, and the risk of damage to the main unit to try and save a little $$$.

at this point.. looks like I'm doomed to buy the $50 box..Geez.. My question now is... Will it allow me to use both my HARD (which I will NOT give up) AND the Visual Alert Light?? as both the HARD and the V1 box use the same port .. they'll have to be used in tandem.. i.e. Without seeing the V1 box I would assume I can...

1. Run the hot wire off the battery to the V1 box.
2. Run the hot wire off the V1 box into the HARD..
3. Run the hot wire off the HARD into the V1
4. Plug the Visual Alert into the V1 box audio input.

Add-a-Fuse is a safer approach. (Available at most high-end parts stores)

Running an un-fused wire directly from the battery has risks. While your device is protected by it's own fuse, this new wire is not.

If a short occures between the fuse and the battery (near the device), this unprotected wire will either vaporize like a flashbulb, get hot and eventually burn thru OR get hot like a heating element and eventually start something on fire.

Easy to troubleshoot, but an avoidable pain in da butt

All V1 wires come with built in fuses.. Got that covered.. but thx..
