First contact with KA and V1!

Going to work this morning very early, 3:30am , V1 sounds it's alarm, KA signal, I immediately check my odometer, 85.2 miles, slowly intensity of signal increases till i come upon him on the shoulder of the road at 88.0 miles. 2.8 miles out the V1 sniffed him out. Terrain is flat. I never did get a full lock tone as i approached him, all led's were lit and it was chirping like crazy. Maybe he was'nt shooting and just had his gun on. My local police shoot 34.7.

I was going home today and their was a leo using i/o mode. I only got one or two dots from the v1 of ka. But what i didnt konw was the leo was 3 miles ahead of me. When i saw the leo he blasted a line of cars ahead of me with ka i got full singal. And after we passed him he left his radar on for a min or so. Anyhow i got a really good save because i was speeding like crazy with a another car in front of me . My ix would never of gave me those results. Im really gald i got the v1 now !

I don't see a significant increase in my V1 than my 9500ix except for the rear which has increased a lot, my V1 alerts about the same place as the 9500ix especially around curves and the range is still low since the cops are almost always shielded by other cars.

Maybe he meant constant on and not standby mode? In any event my guess is it probably didn't go full lock due to the radar source and your detector being slightly off axis of each other.
