    Default Concealed Installs

Looking to get some pics and info on your concealed install. After getting my V1 ripped off I'm thinking about going this route.

I'm sorry about your loss but if you just take down your RD everytime you park you won't have to worry about getting a concealed RD to prevent theft. Those cost $1,000+. The two best custom installed RDs are the Bel STI-r and the 9500ci.

Those $1000 RDs wouldn't be that good for me with 3 cars. I sure don't have 3 grand to spend on RDs right now lol.

Snoopy misunderstood. He thought you wanted a completedly concealed install when in fact you want a STEALTH install. The first response is a good way to go. The installs range from putting the RD up high behind the windowline (90% of posters) to hiding it INSIDE a headrest (M6D?) to dismantling a concealed display and integrating it in your dash (RebINC)

Pretty basic no-frills install. I have the RD mounted so the rear antenna has a clear view. I also have it behind the "dots" but I tested it against a speed sign and it didn't make any difference.

Sometimes I think that the no frills install is the way to go. We don't all have the amazing abilities of REBinc so just getting an install that looks good and clean is the way to go. I have my x50 mounted in a similar fashion as srtga and it has served me well. The biggest thing is just getting in the habit of taking it down. I keep the case in my car and put it somewhere in the car everytime I park. Usually under the seat tucked far back so it would make it hard to grab and go.

I use a visor holder, flip down cover, unless the thief knows what it is looks like a reg holder.
