    Default Not detecting gatso camera?

Just bought a S/H V1 and driven past one camera and got nothing out of the V1. All bands are enabled and It's running In little l mode. It was only the one camera I drove past and It did look a little old so perhaps It's just there as a visual now? I'll check on 2 more cameras later but was just wondering about the modes and what they do. Is It better to put It In one of the other modes, If so why and how do I do It Softwere version Is 3.812 If that makes a differance.
    TIA,

Just tried another 2 cams and got K band as I was approaching one - I then drove past a gas station and the arrows changed to the side so it must of been that falsing. I Still didn't pick up any signal from the actual camera though? Is It worth trying another mode?

If it's one of those pole mounted jobs it maybe road sensor operated only.

Are you sure they're operating on radar?

I don't know that these cameras are In operation but yes, The fixed gatso Is radar so It should detect It. Even says on the bottom here that it will detect gatsos. Valentine 1 Radar and Laser Speed Camera Trap Detectors

Strangely though I did have another V1 S/H and that didn't alert to these cameras either. Perhaps I've just got unlucky and got 2 dud units In a row or perhaps these cameras are long time visual deterrents but would they really waste time and money erecting them and not having them working??

What settings should I be on for all the options. ATM I'm trying pretty much everything on even Ka and X and It's not used over here. I'm surprised I haven't had more falses too. I've only had one In that location I mentioned and even when I was stationary the arrows were changing. I suppose the signal could be bouncing around but still doesn't explain why I'm not getting any warning on gatsos

From what you say it don't sound too good.

If you got it second hand maybe check with VR via the serial number that it's not been stolen, and if not send it back for an upgraded unit.

Maybe some of the V1 users here can tell you how much the upgrade is, from what I've read it's not that much.

It was bought as working so If It Isn't working It will be going back. Upgarde Isn't possible either as I'm not In the US. The upgrade on my model would be about 140$ according the the VR website. I'm just pissed off that I pay my money and get 2 dud units Ina row! What are the chances!!

If you don't have a contact in the US for mailing purposes then maybe you can try something like this.
MyUS - US Mail Forwarding, Worldwide Shipping
I've never used them but there is a few of that type of thing around if you look.

That's my **** luck for you! I'll get In contact with the seller and see what they say. Thanks for that link, I never knew anything like that existed! I paid about $190 for It and according the VR's site It's $45 for a repair and then $139 plus shipping for the upgrade!

Are you sure its a GATSO and not a truvelo or something like that.

The GATSO itself could be turned off I've passed 2 before in Ireland and not a blip out of them because they weren't on.

What mode are you running I run mine in euro mode (U)

Yup there Gatsos. I've tried every mode (A, L and l) all bands are on even the ones not used over here. No Euro mode as It's a 3.812. I suppose the cameras could be off as there all In the same area but I'm suprised at the lack of falses too which I thought would be a big deal on the V1 yet I've only had 1 false. Still I've had no reply from the seller so will give them to the weekend, That will also give me more time to run It by another camera or 2 and be 100% sure.

Is there anyway to tell If there on or off??
