Of course I was just being facetious when I said that the Redline had 10 times the range of the V1. Hence caught up in all the HYPE of the Redline since it brings little new if anything new to the table.

I'm right there with 'ya. I was getting caught up in this hype as well and "almost" bit, but alas I cancelled the pre-order and after consultation with some of the "experts" here have decided to upgrade my V1 to 3.872 instead.

Honestly, unless you are in a "detector illegal" state where stealth is important I can't see the reason for going with a Redline. The V1 is reported as being better at IO/QT, the V1 has arrows and a rear antenna. While the Redline "may" be better at long range CO, how much is too much (especially without arrows)? 9 miles of an "alert" without arrows to guide/reference is a long time to spin your head around looking and wondering. Oh and one more thing (small as it may be)...I've never liked Escort's windshield mounts! The V1 is rock solid, while the Escorts continually bounce along.

I hardwire and mount my detector up on my visor. With the Redline one of the laser detectors would be blocked. I’ve been using my wife’s X50 with the suction cup windshield mount until my new V1 arrives and it bounces around like crazy on the windshield.

Who ever said the V1 was large and heavy is not telling the truth.

Oh yeah I got a SERVICE alert today with the X50 after it went on a laser and PoP Rampage.

I got my new V1 today via FedEx. I ordered it Monday mid afternoon.
    It’s version 3.872.
I’m so glad I canceled the Redline.
My only complaint is that I wish they would automatically send out a tracking number.

It takes a 45 second phone call to VR to get the tracking number

I agree, people expect it these days, it's common courtesy to send it out. That’s part of what you’re paying for when doing expedited shipping and ask for your email. Here’s an extra $35.00 to get it to me over night and I don’t really care when it shows up. People also need to arrange to have someone sign for it too sometimes.

You have no idea when they will have the tracking number. So your supposed to wait until the next day, the day it's supposed to show up.

Often the tracking services do come later after they are closed, You get home, vender is closed and you have no idea if it's gonna show up the next day or not.

    No excuse. Lazy.

I’m completely happy however I would expect a tracking number when you buy a $400.00 product. On average I make 2-5 ebay purchased per week and nowadays $5.00 items have tracking numbers sent out via email. You really shouldn’t have to call.

I just ordered the concealed display.

They won't let me ship it cheap with UPS Ground because I'm not in the right state !!! What's the deal with that? Do the UPS Ground guys in some states steal them or something? I wonder if it has something todo with enforcing signatures which UPS is lax on compared to FedEx.

$22.00 to ship a 2 ounce $39.00 item and I really don't care how fast I get it, not sure when I'll have time. That was a Rip off !!!

Oh and you gotta have someone sign for it. I can understand that for the detector but not for anything under $50.00 At least they remind you with the check box and I changed it to work address.

    Strange folks.
