the trailblazer does it because they are using a cold cathode red light and they leak IR, what GM should have done is incorporated a IR filter into the red cover over it.
Your radio falses because red LED's are also know to swing into the IR spectrum and combine that with the matter that they are frequency modulated to adjust brightness and you have a false.
Unfortunetely it happens.
What can/should be done? Well that's up for debate.
Some members, more so than I would have guessed, have been saved from the V1's superior laser detection. I mean - it's the best in the business, levels above whoever it is that comes in second place.
But for the other guys the laser flases are annoying. That paired with the 'fact' that laser detection on a RD is useless as it's only a ticket notifier.
What should be done? My take is nothing. If you think it's annoying turn it off and use your jammers instead. For us that don't have jammers and almost never encounter laser, like myself, I'll learn to live with the falses. Or just turn 'em off.
