Radar has already been with us for more than 30 years.

Bouncing radio waves or light waves off of a vehicle are probably the least expensive and most reliable speed detection methods that physics will allow the lone police officer to possess. I predict that before they go away, we'll have a nationwide network of average speed cameras that can track you from any one point to another and mail you a ticket if you covered a particular distance more quickly than you should have.

I forget what state is was, but a governor wanted to put speed devices that would be tracked by GPS to calculate speed. If you were caught speeding you would get mailed a ticket. It didn't even get to the state congress because it was soo ridiculous.

Just wait though..... Big government is coming.

Sooner or later California will presure the manufacturers to make the black box accessible post accident and for some people real time.

Since a GPS, depending on it's timing and resolution is not as a reliable as a black box is as it knows motor and wheel speed.

GPS up a mountain may show me as doing a few miles an hour through the switchbacks but the Black box could show me doing 120 MPH

Maybe one day we will be forced to give evidence against ourselves with our smart GPS enabled RDs

I would be willing to bet you are tired of your thrashing and that of Club Valentine. Since you you were calling names that could be considered a screw up. Are you taking responsibility?

I think the thread is doing just fine

No, you didn't. Not if you didn't add an integrated Cheetah.

I have the gps functions thanks to the Cheetah integrated with the V1. VR's logic against totally blocking out certain gps locations so that you never get an alert, is that it creates a perfect place for a LEO to setup to get a high quality target.

So it is old school to not automatically lock out certain locations with known non-LEO k or x alerts, but to instead allow muting features to filter them out? gps would be a nice option, but not required if combined with a Cheetah.

X2 But the male(s) who answer(s) the phone is/are exactly the opposite ... extremely helpful.

Yes I tried all the tricks in this forum and yes it has done a lot to quiet down my V1, thanks for the help.

Just the other day, I was driving with 3 other people in the car and as we drove around in the restaurant car parking lot, my V1 starts going crazy and the comment was "what the hell was that? there's no speed trap in the parking lot, lol. a lot of good that does!" I knew the deal....but I was still embarrassed. No reason for a radar detector to blast full alerts at the highest volume going 5 mph.
Again, one of the tricks is to integrate the V1 with a Cheetah. Did you try that one? The Cheetah is particularly helpful in parking lots, because even after you exceed the 30 second K mute on the V1, or even if that feature doesn't kick in because of the strength of the K band, the Cheetah will mute the audio alert even if the lights are going off like crazy on the V1, as long as you are going below the minimum speed (like 35 mph) for audible alerts to kick in.

It would be nice to have a fully integrated V1 Laser Jammer along with a V1 RD. I wonder if Mike has any contacts in that department.... Probably not since they've been making the same product since 1992 and see no turn to make anything else.
Actually, if you have enough money you don't have to wait until 2040 for a fully integrated RD, jammer and gps. It is available now in the form of the Cheetah. You can integrate both the RD and the jammer with the Cheetah, and get all audio alerts from the Cheetah, which also has gps and gives you the gps alerts. I chose not to integrate the jammer with the Cheetah, because I don't lose anything by having it as a standalone system, but the point is you can get what you describe ... today. As for 2040, I'll more likely be complaining about those young whippersnappers on those dagnabbed hot rods, as I peer out from under my spectacles, than testing the limits of the latest countermeasures.

He seems to have a problem with anyone saying anything bad about VR. That's wierd! Customer loyalty should only go so far. I think $50 for a $13 part is a bit much. If Belscort did that, they should be criticized as well.

This thread is way off topic Data.

What gets me going are peoples motives, bksnoopy has a agenda as has been proven. I have NP with real V1 issues in the forum. Before you guys even knew about this forum. I was reporting V1 problems. Just because my way of letting people know is some what less than polite than you forum freaks would write. Let me suggest this. If the readers out in radar detector land had to put up with Data and Spock reply's all day long what a boring read that would be. So I'll keep on shooting when necessary so put that in your pipe and pass it around.
