Obviously picking up scatter from cars ahead is a lot more important than alerting once you're already hit, and I've had the V1 do that also, just thought the latest laser encounter was interesting with the V1 alerting so well.
I got hit by laser (again) last week from around 1200 feet. PSL was 45 and I was doing about that since the V1 had alerted very briefly to KA band about a 1/2 mile before the laser hit. I think the cop must have driven up with his radar on, and stopped and got out the laser gun just before I came up on him.
The V1 and Blinders went off at almost the same time. I flipped the M27 off after 3 to 4 seconds. The cop continued to shoot me for another 3 to 4 seconds and the V1 alerted the whole time. Then, when the cop started shooting the car behind me, the V1 alerted again. The cop was at a very shallow angle, almost straight ahead, but even so I was surprised the V1 picked up the shot on the guy who was about 100 behind me.
