    Default Bogey Counter Question

I am thinking about buying a V1. Here is my question (forgive my lack knowledge on this) with some background:

My county sheriff is pulling some extra sneaky tricks lately. They are use their K band unit within other K band signals and their signals are just the same strength.
Now can the V1 indicate the present of these multiple targets on the same band? One site where they are running their traps has already 2 K band and one Ka door openers plus another K band door 3/4 mile away.

Currently running a 15+yr Escort , I also a junk Katt Traxx or at least I consider it junk when an old Escort outperforms it.

Yes. It can. That is what the bogey counter is for.

Also, there are no Ka band door openers. Where are you located?

Tnx, for the reply that is what I hoping it could do. I will continue saving my money for a V1. I really need the laser detection as my Escort does not have it and the Huntsville, AL are using it places now.

I live in Madison County, AL.

As for the Ka detections, I am assuming this as I drive by them several times a week. Both Escort and the Katt detect them on Ka band. The Katt has a hard time making it mind up which it is at first but locks on Ka when I am sitting right in front of the door system.

The Katt is advertised to have a 3 mi range but I haven't seen nothing over 1/4 mile even on X band and Escort give nearly a mile on that source.

No radar detector, not even the V1, can save you from police laser. The only sure defense available is a laser jammer. If there is a heavy usage of police laser in your area, then you are better off not speeding at all unless you have a jammer.

Don't buy the V1 for the laser detection. The laser detection is useless most times (there are exceptions) because there is not enough advance warning. You need other defenses to laser instead.

Tnx for all the replies. I see that I need to be researching laser jammers and not just radar detectors. I would think that I will need to protect ends of my vechiles. I will switch over to the jammer forums and do some reading and other research. I will download Radar Roy's Jammer buyers guide for a start.

Be sure to read this source first. Laser jammer FAQ's don't get any better.

Welcome fellow member! I am in your stomping grounds about every weekend. Madison/Huntsville area runs mostly Ka with a few K band. Note: Athens use X band. As one member states, there are no Ka door openers, mostly K around Madison from Walley World and C*S. I got to see many radars on the V1 counter on County Line Rd. when the plane crashed there last month. I updated my old 94 V1 with a new 3.872 and enjoy it greatly. You are informed with a V1! I have not yet seen a need for a jammer in this area, that is, I have seen no Laser so far. Alabama Troopers may use laser in a speeding sting but I have only seen it once near the I-20 Georgia state line. Watch out for the state Troopers, they use instant-on Ka 90% of the time, scares the crap out of you.
