Should I Re-Program the V1?

I have V1's in every car. I just learned about the customizing of the V1. I drive in the city 50% of the time. The rest of the time is split as follows:

Alabama - 60% (Mostly I-65, I-20, I-59 Back Roads)
Tennessee - 15% (I-65)
Florida - 10% (Back Roads, Mostly Northwest FL)
Georgia - 3% (I-20)
Kentucky - 3% (1-65)
Indiana - 2% (I-65)
Mississippi - 2% (I-10, I-59)
Other areas - 5%

I drive approximately 30,000 miles a year.
Right now I have the V1's let to Large L. Is this my best choice?

If you are using the V1 with Mike Valentine's recommended settings, I don't know how you can tolerate it. Hell yeah program it. Mute K, kill X if you don't need it (you might, I don't know), kill POP at the least. When it still gives you a headache, buy an Escort.

I use little "L" with the 30 second automute enabled if I'm driving in the city. I keep it in A mode on highways. My mute volume is about 50% of the regular volume so I still hear alerts. Definitely worth it for keeping you sane!

I experimented with having the mute set to zero (8 down) but found once you hit the mute button it never "un-muted". Anyone else seen this?

I used this to set mine up for city driving and printed the QR guide and keep it in my car great information from Old Goat!

Your driving area is similar to mine. Not programing the V1 and running it in big L is not bad for our area, I did the same with the older V1. When the CPU kicks in on a X band alarm, scares me with the strong/loud signal, which I do not like that because we have a lot of I/O. So having a 2 volume setting for alarms, helps me when hit with I/O. I found that 7 and b arrows down in little l mode allows any weak X and K to be at a lower tab volume just to glance at and eveything else is at the main volume to let off of the gas and head for the brakes. Trains me for I/O Ka that the Bama Troopers use.
