Default Anyone ever got a ticket by fault of the V1?

Anyone? The reason I got my V1 was because I got pulled over in KY for doing 81 in a construction zone posted 55. Got one beep out of my then RD (Uniden). The LEO was sitting in the center against a wall at night and around a corner. I wanted to smash that damn RD.

Cops are a LOT smarter than Radar detectors, unless they are using C/O.

Almost and it's always against I/O.

Was this recent on I64? If it was, I can tell you it definetly was I/O as I experienced it on the way back from a trip recently.

I had a ticket with the V1 in the canyons, moving, around a corner and he blasted me. He was either really fast with that I/O or he was using C/O the whole time. 90% of the CHP I encounter in the canyons are using C/O so I call it a V1 fail. Either way, I know he was shooting other cars and my V1 didn't give a peep ahead of time. Hard to blame the detector in the canyons though ... lots of rock walls blocking things. I'm pretty confident I now have the best window mount detector for the canyons, so it's all good.

I also had a K band ticket with the V1 in a multiple K band false area that I will always blame on the V1 even though I get sh*t about it whenever I mention it. I firmly believe I would not have gotten that ticket with an Escort.

I've never had a radar ticket with any Escort I've ever used ... had a pacing when I had the 9500ix but that does not count.

Having the best radar detector or detectors from either of the big 3 does'nt make one ticket proof just because. Sure you get the bragging rights but equally as important are user awareness and plain ole common sense. Two features that will never come programmed in any detector.

    Classic examples of user fail.

No, some close calls with that pesky I/O stuff though

I didn't get a ticket but on one specific encounter I had no warning on a curvy road until I saw the LEO. There was a mountain blocking the signal on one side and on the other nothing but bushes. Nothing for the signal to bounce off of.

On the other hand, I received a blip on another curvy road about 3 miles before I saw the LEO, traveling the opposite direction, at the bottom of the hill. The signal must have bounced off the wall of the canyon that was below me.

All radar detectors are susceptible to IO radar, laser, Vascar, pacing etc. Running with the V1 will not guarantee that you won't get pulled over.
