Doubts...Maybe its not working

I have a v1, vers 1.8 sw 3.812. I can drive right up to the fire lane by my local grocery store and get about 2 beeps per second. I got a KA band hit albeit very weak from a cop 2 blocks away in the city and about half mile of detection on an open stretch, 2 instances of this. never had an very long detections. think my v1 is out of whack?

I cant, I've moved to Canada recently and I'm on Ontario and they dont ship to there I just called v1 and they said the unit is not stolen, but it is 7 years old. Thats crazy, how can it have v 1.8 and sw 3,812.

No... the issue isn't the programming, it's that it's broken. VR figures out what components are out of spec and replaces them.

However, RD's are illegal in Ontario and they have the Spectre "radar detector detectors" that alert police to the presence of electronic emissions that most detectors (including the V1) produce. It's only a matter of time until you get caught with it and get it confiscated.

There are stealth detectors, ones designed not to leak any detectable emissions. They would be the Beltronics STi, Escort Redline and 9500ci. The 9500ci is an expensive installed system that comes with laser jammers (that barely work). The Redline and STi are windshield-mounted units made on the same platform but the Redline is a newer design and performs better but is more expensive.

I'd sell the V1 on ebay and put the proceeds toward the purchase of a stealth detector. (And maybe teach some poor stranger a lesson about buying a used V1... whoops I didn't say that...)

Mean thing to do but there is NO other way to get rid of the V1 in that condition.

I guess you get what you pay for. Oh well, atleast the detector works for most part and isnt completely toast.

I got a ticket, believe i was hit with I.O. I instantly grabbed the detector threw it under the seat, i was doing +30 psl and got a 400$ ticket. But he didnt find the detector.

Shhhhh...don't say that too loud. There are a couple of guys who say a V1 alerts every time to IO and QT and it only happens to Escorts. Don't burst their bubble.
