You are 100% correct. It is more responsive with pop on and with ka guard off. I do not miss any Q/T's.

State troopers and Causeway cops use 34.7 Ka band. Most Sheriffs use 35.5 Ka band. Most Mandeville cops use 34.7 Ka band and occasionally you might see a Sheriff or Mandeville cop use K band but it seems like it is getting fazed out.

    It finally arrived today

This is where I have it mounted

And this is a view from the outside

I took my car out for a cruise and man does this thing let you know whats up. I love it. I also got a little video that I will post later. Anyone know if its safe to leave it in the car or not? I'm in the south so it gets pretty hot and I don't want to mess it up.

I take mine down. Heat is not good for radar detectors. When it hits 90-100F in Htown, I sometimes point an air vent at my V1 when I'm driving.

BTW nice install. All you need to do now is hardwire it to get rid of the long, annoying AC adapter cord.

Do you know if that is metalized tint on the front? If so the performance will be decreased. I researched my tint after I bought my RD and found out that I have llumar metalized tint across the front. I mounted mine with the suction cups on the tint but the V1 is aimed out just below the tint. Just a heads up.

Good to know. I took it out just in case too. I plan on hardwiring it soon, is it simple to remove it when hardwired?

Its semi-metallic. I just threw it up there so i'll do some adjusting next time I drive it

Yes. The windshield mount and hardwire can stay in the car. All you have to do is unplug the V1 and take it down.
