V1 heat

I'm a brand new user...less then 24hrs now.

Just a quick question...is this thing suppose to get really warm? Almost hot? I know some is from being black and in the window like that...but its really kind of toasty! Normal?

Thank you. I was just worried when I took it off my windshield to pocket it for the walk in the building. The thing was really warm in my pocket. lol

Call this rediculious, but I sometimes keep my defroster on cold on hot summer days, just for the RD. :-) It keeps it cooled down. Let me know if it works for you!

Yeah like Old Goat said it does get pretty warm. I mount my V1 with the visor mount, no way will I let my V1 bake in the hot sun!

As long as it is within specs, you will be fine.

It was designed to mount on the windshield. Mine never comes down and its plenty hot in OK.

Oh wow. 158F Operating. Thanks everyone. This has answered everything. I just wasn't sure if it was suppose to get that hot, guess its all good then!

I have mine mounted near the top of my windshield and take it down when I am parked. For the first 10 to 15 min. I drive with my defrost on to cool it down then I worry about myself

Mounting it on the visor really helps with the heat issue.
