I am going to keep driving with V1 in the city, and see what I think. Overall, it's a great radar detector!

I've used a 9500ix and have to note that the "silence" is nice, but it only works in familiar territory, where it's had a chance to learn static K locations. In unfamiliar territory, and especially traveling, it doesn't work at all, because it hasn't had a chance to learn. This is true, I believe, of any sensitive RD (note the complaints about how "chatty" Redline is. Great sensitivity = fairly gabby.)

However, the 9500's RLC and speed camera alerts can be helpful in a strange city.

You mean the 9500ix falses as much as the V1 in unfamiliar territory, correct?
Yes. It won't "learn" false sources until you've passed them 3 (or more) times. In a city you're visiting (or just passing through), how often is that going to happen? Maybe around your hotel...

It will fault the first time around, but after it has the locations marked then it would lock them out, usually takes about 3 passes/readings of the same false alert before it is locked out
It's not magic, after all. It's not going to lock out very much in a new city, unless you drive in exactly the same routes, about three times each. Anywhere else, it should alert. That's its job.

I do drive a little bit in city of Boston and even with X band off and K band auto mute 30 sec still noisy and I have never encountered a LEO with radar. If I was driving only City I would turn k band off!

I use my V-1 for all driving needs.

little L, X/Pop off, 30 sec automute for K. Traffic isn't heavy enough for the 30 seconds to pass in my city so its acceptable. In the rare occasion traffic is heavy, the cars will move along at crawling speeds, so the V1 can be shut off.

I drive with my V1 all the time, City or highway.

Even inside the city, there are a lot of roads that are long with many hiding spots.

Had a great experience with the V1 on a short road trip today. The lead time of warnings, ramp up, and arrows are great.

What if I have come to firmly believe that the Valentine One is the greatest radar detector ever made?

I'm pretty much a believer on that one.

You got a ways to go before I send you an invite; gotta make sure all the 9500ix infection is out of you

Yes, it's way too soon. I have to become more acquainted with particular virtues of the V1. Plus, I had an X50 for years prior to the 9500ix.
