Smile Just Ordered a Valentine One Detector

Just got off the phone w/ valentine research.

I ordered a "returned" unit with latest software- It should arrive this friday or next monday...

I'm really looking forward to it, as it's my first radar detector!

Thanks, radar community, for the advice.

    John

    John,

Good choice and welcome to the club. Please take the time to read the detector's manual, a lot of folks skip it, and miss out on a lot of good info.

You'd also might want to invest in the concealed display and get your unit hard-wired and mounted high.

Depending on your area, you might be able to disable certain bands and avoid false alerts.

Excellent Choice and you have done your homework with the V1.

Congratulations, take the time to get used to it as the V1 can be a little intimidating at first (my first impression was "this sucks!", then I got used to it and fell in love). Read the stickies on automute to make it a little better behaved in the city.

I just got a refurb unit. It's brand spanking new from what I see with the latest firmware 3.872. No scratches on the lenses or casing. I paid $370 with shipping.
