As of now, 1/9/06 there is NO later version than 3.819 for non-Euro POP2 V1's -- however the fix comparable to 3.826 (J bug & Ghosting) is under development and should be available in 2-3 weeks (approx) -- they are waiting for feedback from 3.826 before making the non-Euro POP2 update.
looks like the 3.819 update non euro is now sheduled for 3-4 weeks from yesterday. 1/18/06

3.824 was the first Euro variant. 3.825 followed in June or July '05 with a fix for the un-usable K-band muting options.

Got a phone call, seems due to all the trouble with this, they're going to be upgrading my unit for me, for free... ball was dropped, but looks like Mike V. is going in for a rebound!

Now I have to wait and call them in a month or so, and find out if 3.820 or whatever is available.. then ship it back again, and hope its REALLY available..

If I had money to burn, I'd sell my 3.819 and buy a 3.826.. but I don't.. I barely paid my mortgage this month as it is, paycheck was late because the boss's father who did the accounting passed away.. yet I blew $ on shipping the V1 back, for nothing.

For me, it may be more practical to sell the 3.818 and just buy a new unit.

at the end of the day Mike V. just hires people but can't monitor every call. VR's customer service is still #1 and by them taking care of you guardian, it proves it. thank you for sharing your personal story and best wishes with everything else going on in your life. oh yeah and 3.826 still J bugs once in a blue, far less than u have experienced, but the bogey lock tone working as well as increased range should be a dandy. they did improve on the j bug though, still not 100%. bottom line is range-->time to slow down--->no ticket

Yep, that's why I recommend V1 all the time when people ask about RDs or I hear them talking about it.. the life-long upgrades and top notch performance are what sold me.. Fixing their mistake definitely made me a happIER V1 owner.. hopefully I'll get 3.827 or a 'final' fix to this J-bug, and the ghosting..

Mike V for president! Now that is a V1 moment, Mike V catching wind of the mess up and fixing it! I bet he has himself a good chuckle reading some of our suggestions about changing the V1, "mini" or next best V2. Anyways like I said, I am very impressed to his commitment to his customers.
