    Default V1 falsing less?

I've been driving for the last couple months around Houston with a new V1 purchased a couple months back. I use it Big L with X and POP off and K 30 sec mute. Interestingly, it seems like it is increasingly falsing a lot less of K band, as though it is filtering better the door sensors, etc. In fact, it doesn't go off really anymore than my 9500ix (wife currently using), with its occasional false K and frequent redlight alerts (they are all over inner loop and downtown).

Anyone else experience this kind of thing?

Mine false's just as much. Every day same spots. But pop off made a huge difference in when it detected.

Sounds like your unit is going out of tune slowly. Though i admit the V1 can be pretty quiet its no where near the 9500ix.

I was under the impression that the V1 was very chatty before I purchased mine, but it's really not at all in my area. I know it would be in a big city environment, but for smaller cities and towns, it's just as quiet as other detectors from my experiences. With the K band muting, pop off, and x off, it's not bad at all. I don't know much about the V1 maintanence wise, but surely a 2 month old V1 wouldn't be going out of tune so early.

Keep in mind that many new door openers are no longer K band. They are being changed out in many stores like Walley World and drug stores. Therefore, if you are missing some K band false alerts, this may be the reason......

Maybe I am imagining less falsing or just getting used to it. But how would a 60 day old unit be out of tune. The car is garaged and I take down the V1 when the car is parked in the sun.

It happens, though i was being slightly sarcastic for a 2 mo old unit. There is no way for the V1 to become more quiet utilizing the same settings.

K band mute is very good at delaying falses, but its just delaying them. So if a false that hasn't been changed is falsing less the V1 isn't picking it up as early. Therefor implying it may be going out of tune, even at 2 months old.

Note: any RD has good days and bad days, the problem is when bad days become more frequent. Appearing like filtering better or shorter alert distance. Weather can also change your range for same falses.

Find a strong signal and see if it decreases by over 10% over time under similar conditions to be sure.

i dont mind getting false alerts, especially if its in an area where i drive daily. i know where they are and i know when to expect them. it also lets me know that my unit is working properly hahaha.

My version doesn't false that much (pre-POP version).

It's good though with the bogey counter because if you pass by a known false, lets say with 3 bogeys, and one day you see 4 you'll know there is a possible threat
