New V1 User - Palm Beach - Need Help with Florida Settings

Still in my trial with both V1 and 9500ix... leaning V1... website says I have 1.8 with Pop 2(not sure how that applies with all the .872 numbers)..

So far I have found tremendous range on the Florida Turnpike... I have been reading numerous threads about Ka Guard / Pop on or off .. and am getting overwhelmed...

I am hoping to clear up what I should turn off and why in the settings to enhance range in my area... and please... in simple English... I love the tech stuff but need baby steps to start understanding better..

Try Ka guard off if you can handle some falsing.

Ok... saw the graph... but what does Ka Guard actually do? I guess I would need to turn POP off also... is that right?

Most would leave POP on and Ka guard off if you wanted a little more sensitivity but don't know what is exactly used in your area.

MPH guns (pop) are used in certain areas in FL, so you may get a free pop warning before hit with I/O to be ticketed with (tracking record). With so many RDs around, I would leave the V1 in normal (default) settings but turn X band off, arrow #1 down, state law does not allow X band. Learn the 3 modes. Then you may want to set arrows 7 and b down for K band false alarms in the city later. Then you may play with the #6 Ka Guard if you can stand the Cobras. Happy motoring but leave pop on there.....
