I was having sensitivity a while back. At the time of having these issues, I had my valentine mounted below my tint strip. I then moved it as high as possible, behind the tint strip, and the sensitivity changes were drastically affected, in a positive way. I was always kind of skeptical about mounting behind the tint strip, but again, it did nothing but good for me.

As for laser sensitivity, I didn't notice any difference.

I guess even mounting behind non metallic tint will still affect sensitivity to radar negatively.
Technically a tint strip of any color wont effect radar performance as long as it has not radar reflecting or absorbing material in it. Sounds like you may have had a good radar/laser day as apposed to a bad one.

This is why this is so weird to me. I've noticed better sensitivity since moving it below my tint strip. And my kind of tint is the blue smoked kind. Pretty sure there's no metal in there. Thats why I'm so confused as to why my sensitivity has gone up. Oh well. As long as it works right?

Ha, exactly. If it's not broke, don't fix it. I've used my radar detectors in various vehicles and they've all seemed to be somewhat different. Sometimes I seem to get better sensitivity when mounting lower, while a higher mount for another vehicle seems to be better.

Sounds like night time the V1 us not filtering reflection from the sun so it's more sensitive. Your in night mode behind the tint.
