Hey guys, I picked up another used V1 and sold the first one after it came back calibrated. I liked that one, but it was a bit bulky and I wanted to try and find a 3.813 out there. This one has a valid serial number on the back.
Today I hit pay dirt, I found someone who was selling a V1 3.813 and sold it to me for $150. I picked it up but I quickly discovered it was blowing fuses. I took a look and found the coiled cord was damaged and it was shorting at the connectors due to frayed wires touching. It's now sitting in the garbage.
Anyway, the strange thing is that it doesn't pick up K band at all. Could the frayed wires have damaged something internally that it doesn't pick it up? I verified a false at a bank nearby using my X50 and it picks it up full blast. This one is dead quiet in the same place (I didn't run 2 detectors at once).
The other odd thing I noticed is that, when I lookup the serial on Valentine, it's a non pop model. However, when I go through programming, after letter "H" theres a lowercase "i" (minus the dot though). And that one is set to Arrow up, when I change that to Arrow Down and restart the detector, it now starts up and says "P""o""P". I thought this was a non pop model? It doesn't give the "P" for programmed, it clearly says "P""o""P"... anyone know what this is?
