Will these settings still protect me pretty good?

anyone running these similar settings? what's your luck with running the V1 like this? I have to admit, I just took my car out around the usual "False alarms and it is nice! no more blaring tone... unless I get stuck at a red light for more than 30 seconds ) Ka still works great alerted 4 signals to Ka even with a false K band going so I flipped around pulled into a convenience store and watched the arrows and pin pointed two cops (I could barely see them between the two buildings and through a fence... but there they were sitting pretty far off on the other side of the road in an apartment complex (just left their radar on while they are jacking each other off) any how these are my settings:


Bold is changed from default
1. (X-band) ON (debated about turning it off... but w/e)
2. (K-band) ON
3. (Ka-bdan) ON
4. (Laser) ON
5. Changed to "More Responsive" (maybe that's what helped me find the police hiding in that apartment complex)
6. ON
7. Features b thru G enabled
8. Muted vol. set by Control Lever
A. Volume is set by Control Lever

Its been discussed in a few threads but I think the more responsiveness is just in regard to ramp up. It makes it sound like you are closer to the cop faster the others sound good but you know the k mutuing only occurs in the logic modes. Big L hides it completely and l shows but does not do the audio alerts. I prefer to run in little l because I still like to see the alert to decide if I think I need to take the alert seriously.

The fellow member did a great job on informing you. May I add that #5 is for photo radar across the road (Ka). It just shows more LEDs to get you to hit your brakes harder to slow down faster on Ka, no change in detection sensitivity (range) and not needed where van photo radar is not used...

hmmmm, maybe I'll change it back then since I don't think they use van photo radar in texas.... or at least where I am at (North Austin)

Since 30s works except at stop lights(you'll always have that) you might want to try 20 or 25 seconds for a week or so. Each second of muting is like adding a later of filter. Don't want to become like an Escort, you know.

the problem I am having is because the v1 picks up radar so well 30 sec sometimes isn't even enough time when driving passed a false k-band lol

7 down should only be if your getting full K-band blast.

You might want to try 7 up, not down. Then E & F down. In little "L" the K-band source will stay at your lower volume until E or F are met. Give it a try as it does take time to learn the programming.

I really like the settings you mentioned.... but I have one question... If I am not mistaken... with the settings you listed, will the V1 stil switch to full volume (first volume) when the signal strength is over 6? or does it stay muted (second volume) all the time on K-Band

The 30 second mute runs out but there is a way to make the V1 acceptable with no time-out blast of loud volume to annoy and scare one in metro areas and not run blind on K band incase a city motor cop is using radar ahead. Plus it puts the V1 in a 2 priority alarm status where one can use the unit in this same mode all the time. Arrows 7 and b down for the typical K band muting (tab 11-12 o'clock, main 4-5 o'clock) in little l mode where you just hit the mute button to keep the K door opener at tab volume which is noticable but not annoying (a heads up) in case it might be a real Leo, no loud supprises after 30 seconds to scare one. Except for Ka and Laser which we want which allows to foot to be heading toward the brake pedal. Yes, one does have to hit the mute button everytime to aknowledge the K band, don't want to do that, then switch to the big mode and hope one makes it past the door opener before 30 seconds, annoying. Or go and buy an Escort product!.... Enjoy

lol interesting stuff.... not sure what a leo is? I guess that's a local police officer? but could you answer my other question about "NormSky"'s settings.... will it still alert to the first volume after 6 bars?
